Privacy Policy
BCWIP — operated by BC Solutions.
Effective date: August 5, 2026
1. The short version
BCWIP runs on your own Windows computer. It reads your project data from QuickBooks Online and builds a WIP schedule locally. BCWIP does not send your financial data to BC Solutions, and does not use any third-party AI service to process it.
2. What BCWIP reads from QuickBooks
With your authorization, BCWIP reads your projects, estimates, invoices, and cost transactions from QuickBooks Online to compute contract values, costs to date, billings, over/under-billings, and profit fade. This data is read into BCWIP's local database on your computer.
3. What BCWIP writes to QuickBooks
BCWIP can write three project fields back to QuickBooks Online — estimate, hourly labor, and current time — and only when you explicitly confirm each change. Every write is recorded in an in-app change log that you can review and revert.
4. Data that stays on your computer
Your QuickBooks connection, your license activation, your settings, and BCWIP's database are stored locally on your computer in your BCWIP application-data folder, except as described under Cloud sync below. BC Solutions does not collect or store this data.
Cloud sync (optional, off by default)
BCWIP includes an optional cloud sync feature that sends a one-way, read-only copy of your project data (project names, contract amounts, costs, billings, and computed over/under-billings) to a PostgreSQL database that you own and control, so an AI assistant running elsewhere can read it. Cloud sync is off by default and completely inert until you enter a database connection string in the product's settings — nothing leaves your computer unless you configure it.
The destination database is yours. BC Solutions does not host it, does not have credentials for it, and cannot read what you send there. Sync is one-way: the product writes to that database and never reads back from it. You can stop syncing at any time by clearing the connection string in Settings, and you control deletion of anything already sent, since the database is under your administration.
5. Activation and license data
When you activate BCWIP, a limited amount of information (such as your license key and a machine identifier used to enforce single-machine licensing) is sent to BC Solutions' activation server. This is used solely to validate and manage your license. It does not include your bills or your QuickBooks data.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BCWIP evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
